On July 30, the Podlaskie Museum in Białystok officially handed over the construction site to Budimex SA in Okopy.
On this special day, the site that will soon house this landmark facility for the Podlaskie Voivodeship and the entire country was attended by, among others, Marshal of the Podlaskie Voivodeship Łukasz Prokorym, members of the Podlaskie Voivodeship Board, representatives of the Father Jerzy Popiełuszko “Dobro” Foundation, including members of the Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko’s family, and Mirosław Nizio of Nizio Design International, the Museum’s designer.
The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony was performed by Father Jerzy’s brother, Józef Popiełuszko, and the President of the Dobro Foundation, Marek Popiełuszko.
Following the handover, Budimex SA employees began demolishing the old buildings located on the site.
The planned completion of construction work is scheduled for the end of March 2027.
