The ceremonial cornerstone laying for the future museum dedicated to Father Jerzy Popiełuszko has taken place.
The event was attended by representatives of state and local authorities, the Church, the local community, and the family of Blessed Father Jerzy Popiełuszko.
A special moment was the unveiling of a stone from his hometown of Okopy, blessed by Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican in the fall of 2025. Soil from the grave of the blessed martyr was also placed next to it – as a symbol of remembrance
and the foundation of the site under construction.
The museum, scheduled to open in the fall of 2027, is intended to become a space of remembrance, reflection, and meetings for future generations.
Thank you all for your presence and support of this unique initiative
